Ahhh well I haven't written a journal in quite sometime and I figured today would be a great time to do that.
Starting off, I'm not at school today because I'm not feeling too well. Anyways, good news for my deviant account, I quit basketball- the sport I was currently playing.
Not that I was awesome, I'm five feet tall so I really don't think I was doing the girls any great priveleges of being on my team. I guess the team will just have to cut their losses and SOMEHOW get on without their five foot guard (not that i was the only guard they had).
So far, I have only found pros to quitting the sport. Though I had put in hard work, specifically hard work from June 1st till about last monday, I can not bring myself to regret the fact I quit.
PROS:
1. Well this is probably my main number one reason to quit, though I would never tell my teamates that: I quit so that I can spend the majority of my time doing art and finding myself among this here lovely website.
2. I was exhausted: Mentally and physically. My body ached and the homework was being shoved to the side; not a good plan because I'm in 4 honors classes and an AP world History class.
All in all, this past week was great for me. I got to go home right after school, turn on the tv, chow down on something, and just do whatever. I couldn't believe just how tired I had been from three hour practices, six days a week.
Now for some good news and a lot less complaining!
On Halloween I visited a national portfolio day and saw the colleges: the Maryland Institute of the Arts and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I acquired summer programs offered at both; they both liked my portfolio very much and told me I was in a great place, especially because I am only a highschool sophomore.
The summer programs were in TUSCANY, ITALY; BALTIMORE, MARYLAND; AND CHICAGO ILLINOIS!
I have not decided which one to go to yet they all seems soo amazing!
Well this has been pretty long and I'd hoped to just give an update of what I've been doing.
Also, before I forget, does anyone know of a good sewing machine to buy for a beginning sewer. I would love to learn how to make clothes.
BONJOUR!
P.s. I'm saving up to buy a Cintiq Wacom Tablet and an duh..duh..duh.. IMAC!! Wish me luck!
